Perfect Attendance Incentives
Why Attendance Matters at Carver
At Carver, we believe regular attendance is more than just coming to school — it builds resilience, responsibility, and community. When students are in class on time, they benefit from every learning opportunity, and their classmates do too.
That’s why we’re excited to celebrate students who demonstrate the dedication to attend school every day, on time. These celebrations recognize effort, consistency, and growth — and reinforce positive habits that serve students now and into their futures.
Below you’ll find our schedule of ways we recognize and reward students with perfect attendance for the month, the trimester, and the school year.
We understand that getting to school every single day, on time, is not always easy. Families face real-life challenges — appointments, transportation, health, and more. At Carver, our goal is not to penalize, but to encourage growth.
-
When students miss school due to unavoidable reasons, we honor that, and encourage families to communicate with us so we can support them.
-
We offer resources (like our attendance team or family liaisons) to help students and families overcome barriers.
-
Our incentives are not just about perfection — they also recognize and build the habits that lead toward excellence.
How Perfect Attendance Works
To ensure fairness and clarity, here are our attendance criteria for recognition:
-
Tardies — Students must be on time for school to count toward perfect attendance. (Late arrivals can disrupt learning for everyone.)
-
Early Check-outs — Leaving early may affect eligibility. (If the check out time is after 2pm students will still be eligible for Perfect Attendance.)
-
Absences — Students must be at school and even absences that are excused will be counted against Perfect Attendance.
If you have questions or concerns about how your child’s attendance is being counted, please reach out to our attendance office. We want to partner with you.
